How We Discovered FieldSkin Dog Protection Suits at the 2026 HRC International Fall Grand

FieldSkin Dog Protection - One of the best parts about attending major retriever events is getting the chance to meet people who are developing new products for working dogs.

Sometimes you come across something you've seen before with a slightly different twist.

Other times, you find a product that makes you stop and take a closer look.

That's what happened when we met Ben from FieldSkin Products at the 2026 HRC International Fall Grand and got our first real look at the FieldSkin Protective Dog Suit.

We were impressed.

Not because it was flashy or complicated, but because we could immediately see the thought that went into the design and, more importantly, the problem it was designed to solve.

Protection for Dogs That Actually Go Into the Field

Anyone who hunts or trains sporting dogs knows what we ask these dogs to go through.

Briars. Brush. Stickers. Burrs. Tall grass. Heavy cover. Mud. Water.

A hunting dog doesn't look at a nasty patch of cover and think twice about it. If that's where the bird went, that's where the dog is going.

That's one of the things we love about them.

Unfortunately, it's also why they can come out of the field scratched up, covered in burrs or with irritated skin.

When Ben showed us the FieldSkin suit, the first thing that caught our attention was the amount of coverage it provides while still being designed around the way a dog actually moves.

That's important.

Putting protective material on a dog is easy. Designing something a dog can run, jump, hunt, retrieve and work in is a completely different challenge.

The Design Made Sense to Us

We've been around hunting dogs, retrievers and dog training equipment for a long time, so when we look at a new product, we're usually thinking about one thing:

Would we actually use this?

With FieldSkin, the answer was yes.

The suit is designed to give the dog's body added protection from the kind of vegetation and cover they encounter while hunting, training and spending time outdoors.

But what impressed us just as much as the protection was the functionality.

A protective dog suit isn't very useful if it restricts the dog's movement or becomes something the handler is constantly fighting with.

The FieldSkin design struck a good balance between coverage, protection and freedom of movement.

Watching how the suit fit and understanding how it was designed made it obvious that this wasn't simply a piece of fabric shaped like a dog.

There was some real thought behind it.

It Solves a Problem Sporting Dog Owners Understand

If you've ever spent the day hunting behind a dog, you probably know the routine when you get back to the truck.

Check the dog over.

Start pulling burrs.

Look for scratches.

Check the belly and chest.

Go over the legs.

Then do it again when you get home because you inevitably missed something.

For dogs with longer coats, burrs and vegetation can be an even bigger headache.

FieldSkin isn't going to change the way your dog hunts, and it's not going to make every hazard in the field disappear.

What it can do is provide another layer of protection between your dog and the environment he's charging through.

That's a pretty simple concept.

And we liked it.

Meeting Ben Made the Product Even More Interesting

The product itself got our attention, but getting a chance to meet Ben and learn more about FieldSkin was just as important.

One of the things we've always enjoyed about this industry is meeting the people behind smaller and growing brands.

There's usually a story behind the product.

Someone saw a problem, wasn't happy with the available solution and decided to build something better.

That's the kind of company we like working with.

After spending some time with Ben, looking at the FieldSkin suit and talking about the product, we decided that FieldSkin was something we wanted to bring to HuntEmUp Outdoors.

So we did.

HuntEmUp Outdoors Is Now Carrying FieldSkin

We're excited to now offer FieldSkin Protective Dog Suits through HuntEmUp Outdoors.

For us, adding a product isn't just about putting another SKU on the website.

We want to carry products that make sense for our customers.

A large percentage of the people who shop with us own retrievers, bird dogs, hunting dogs and other active working dogs. These aren't dogs that spend every day lying on the couch.

They're in the woods.

They're in the fields.

They're in the water.

They're training.

They're hunting.

And they're usually going through cover we'd rather walk around.

That's exactly the type of dog FieldSkin was designed for.

More Than Just Carrying Another Product

We're also excited about the opportunity to work with Ben and help grow the FieldSkin brand.

HuntEmUp Outdoors has been in the sporting dog and hunting market for a long time, and one of the things we've learned is that good products don't always become successful products overnight.

People have to discover them.

They need to understand what the product does, why it was developed and how it can help their dog.

That's where we believe we can help.

We want to introduce FieldSkin to more hunters, retriever trainers, upland hunters, hunt test competitors and sporting dog owners who may never have seen a product like this before.

We believe there is a real place in the sporting dog market for practical protective gear, especially when it's designed around dogs that are actually working in the field.

Sometimes You Know a Good Product When You See It

We go to events like the HRC International Grand because we enjoy being around the dogs, handlers, trainers and people who make up the retriever community.

Finding new products is a bonus.

Finding a product and a company that we're genuinely excited about working with is even better.

That's what happened when we met Ben and FieldSkin Products at the 2026 HRC International Fall Grand.

We liked the idea.

We liked the design.

We liked the functionality.

Most importantly, we could see how the product could benefit the same hunting and sporting dogs our customers own.

That's why we decided to bring FieldSkin Protective Dog Suits to HuntEmUp Outdoors.

We're looking forward to working with Ben, introducing more dog owners to FieldSkin and hopefully playing a part in helping this growing brand reach a much larger audience.

If your dog spends its hunting season crashing through briars, brush, tall grass and heavy cover, FieldSkin is definitely worth a closer look.

We're glad we stopped and took that closer look ourselves.
