Progressive mode is similar to temperament learning, except that the stimulation level reverts to 0 for each new barking episode and continues to ramp until the barking ceases.  User-controlled mode is most similar to a traditional bark collar, where the dog owner defines the stimulation level the dog receives when barking is detected.
